Adhesive Vinyl or Static Cling Install
NOTE: Only apply decals or clings to smooth, glossy drumheads. Will not stick well to coated heads.

Tools needed
• Drum decal
• Soapy water (2 drops dish soap + 16+ oz. water)
• Spray bottle for soapy water
• Squeegee or credit card wrapped in soft cloth
• Clean dry cloth or paper towels.

Clean Drumhead
Before applying, clean the drumhead surface with spray bottle with soapy water and a dry cloth.
Make sure it’s squeaky clean. Believe it or not, vertical surfaces get dusty too.

Prepare Squeegee
To avoid surface scratches, wrap your credit card or plastic squeegee in a soft, clean cloth.
If you have a squeegee with a felt cover, that will work too.

Spray Soapy Water
Spray the surface with the soapy water solution, and keep the surface wet during application so the decal moves easily into place.
2 drops of dish soap in a squirt bottle full of water is sufficient. Shake a little to mix.

Remove decal from backing paper
With clean hands, carefully peel decal from white backing paper.
It helps to spray the back of the decal with soapy water at this point.
NOTE FOR STATIC CLING: Keep the backing paper for later use. It’s ok to roll it up, don’t fold it.
Place cling back on glossy side of backing paper.

Place Decal
Place decal on the wet drumhead. Position the decal so it’s centered on the head.
Inspect around the edge to ensure decal is evenly centered.
If you have a porthole, gently use your fingers to feel that it’s in the right spot for cutting out later.

Squeegee in place
Use your felt squeegee or the wrapped plastic card to adhere decal, working from center outward.
Use a firm enough pressure to work out water, but not so firm that you scratch the surface or push the decal off center.
Remove as many air-bubbles as you can.

Wipe Dry
Dry surface completely. Wipe surface and edges. If you left your hardware on for install, be sure to wipe that down as well. (We don’t want rusty bits on our kit!)
If you play too soon before it’s dry and fully adhered, it may vibrate out of place. It can take 24-48 hours to dry.
Congrats, you are good to go!!

Removing
When you’re ready to remove your decal, lift the edge with your fingernail or credit card and peel off.
Our decals should not tear, and will come off in one piece. The material may stretch as you pull, and will not be able to be reused. For reusable, please purchase static cling instead of adhesive decal.
It can be easier to remove the decal if you remove the head first.
If you’re removing a cling, place it back on the glossy side of the original backing paper for future use.
